Paris is a superb travel destination for families with lots of activities, parks, and tours that keep kids and teenagers in Paris entertained. It can be tough though to find the best place to stay in Paris with kids.
What are the best family hotels in Paris?
Content of this post
Where to stay in Paris with kids is a very common question! Before digging deeper into, check the following tips and advice for finding the best hotel in Paris for your family:
- There is a general shortage of rooms in Paris. Book way ahead of time, especially when traveling on a tighter budget and when looking for a family room in Paris. Hotels with family rooms for 4 are very limited.
- The best central area for families in Paris is Saint-Germain-des-Près. It’s close to pretty much every landmark in Paris and also close to the Jardin Luxembourg with playgrounds and other kid activities. The area around Opèra is also very popular and convenient for visiting Paris.
- My go-to resource to find accommodation for my own family travels is booking.com. Most deals are having good cancellation options and I only had good experiences with their customer support.
- The most popular family-friendly hotel in Paris is the Hotel Opéra Richepanse. It provides a babysitter service, airport shuttle, and is excellently located right by the Tuileries Garden. Check availabilities now
- The most popular budget-friendly family hotel in Paris is Le Regent Montmartre by Hiphophostels. Click here to check rates and availabilities here

The Best Hotels in Paris that sleeps 5!
The easiest way to find the best budget hotels in Paris for 5 or 6 is to either sleep in a hostel room or to accept to split up and book 2 rooms. Both are not the very best if you plan a family vacation in Paris. Hotels for families of 5 are rare. There are of course a few hotels in Paris, that are offering rooms for 5 or 6 people, but you’ll be better quick, they are very fast booked out.
Hotel de France – Invalides
This hotel de France Invalides is in a quiet area just one km away from the Eiffel Tower and very close to the Metro. It’s perfect for a family of 5 as the booking comprises 2 adjacent rooms with a connecting door.
More hotels for families of 5
Hôtel Océanic room with balcony close to Opéra and Galerie Lafayette
Royal Garden Champs Élysée big family apartment with balcony and parking, close to Parc Monceau
Le Matissia Aparthotel with 6 beds close to Opèra
Hotels in Paris for less than €100 – and 3 beds minimum!
To be fair and as a disclaimer, you won’t sleep in the Hotel Hilton and the rooms are not coming with a view of the Eiffel Tower. It’s basic budget accommodations with (mostly) private bathrooms.
All family-friendly hotels in Paris below are more or less 5 min away from the closest Metro station. I also did not list places that are (in my opinion) in really too dodgy areas, except if they are having a killer argument. Please note that the prices can vary depending on demand and flexibility. City tax is not included.
