Resources

Welcome to the Salut from Paris resource section, a curated list of the sites and apps I strongly recommend for planning your trip to Paris. It’s my personal list of apps and pages I use for organising our trips and they where crucial when planning our family world trip.

for your information: I am recommending the services below because I am convinced of their awesomeness and I know they will make your travel life way easier. However, I am also their affiliate partner and earn – at no extra cost for you – a little commission if you book something through one of my links. (please do :))

Our most favourite travel resources

When traveling 9 months around the world, I booked every hotel with booking.com. They have a great cancellation policy that keeps you flexible cause we all know: plans can change. We had to use their mediation centre once and found them very forthcoming and were happy with their support.
Airbnb is our second favourite source when it comes to accommodation booking. It’s great especially for budget travel as you can book an apartments with cooking facilities, washing machines and everything you need in your daily life. If you are new to airbnb, click here to get a up to 23€ voucher for your first booking!
During our world trip Skyscanner was extremely helpful. It’s a flight comparator that pulls data from hundreds of pages like opodo, expedia etc. and shows all possible options for four travel date. You even can check for an entire months to find the cheapest flight.
Get your guide is a platform for tour companies that lets you easily see and compare what kind of tours and activities are available for Paris. If you want to take a cruise on the Seine, you find all available cruises on get your guide. I like them especially due to their flexible cancellation policy. You can get a refund up to 24h before an activity.
Uber is a ride sharing app that allows you to hire a private driver. You add your location and destination and the app searches a driver for you. We like it especially because of it’s transparency: You know the final price of your ride before confirming. If you are new to Uber, click here to get a voucher for your first ride!
Omio is a platform to find train and bus rides in all Europe. It’s super handy, the page is intuitive and in english and tickets are conveniently available for mobiles.
Trail wallet is our all time favourite budgeting app. It was crucial during our trip for keeping our budget under control. Downside: it’s not free and only available for iOS
Maps.Me is the app we used at every destination. You simply download the map of your destination and it works offline. You get directions, sights and everything you need for not getting lost. Best: it’s free! iOS Google
