Are you looking forward to seeing cherry blossoms in Paris this year? This quick guide will show you where to find the city’s most beautiful pink spots.

I’ve loved cherry blossoms since I was a child. I had a treehouse nestled in one, and every spring, our garden would turn pink from the falling petals. That memory has stayed with me — and every year, I wait eagerly for the first blooms in Paris. I can spot them from a mile away!

Paris might not be the first place you think of for cherry blossoms, but you’ll be surprised how many of these trees are scattered across the city. And truly, they look even more magical here, framed by Haussmann rooftops and historic gardens.

If you are lucky enough and travel to Paris in spring and want to see the Cherry Blossom, April is the best time to visit. You’ll find some streets entirely covered in pink petals. It’s a wonderful and unforgettable sight and if you are a spring enthusiast like me, you can spot them from miles away.

What’s so Special about Cherry Blossoms?

First things first — cherry blossoms are simply incredible. So delicate and fleeting, yet lush and full when in bloom. Their short life makes them feel even more precious — most trees blossom for barely a week.

The love for cherry blossoms is almost universal (how could it not be?), but it began in Japan, where they’re called sakura. For centuries, they’ve been celebrated in art, poetry, and spring festivals.

They symbolize hope and new beginnings, the gentle reminder that every season — and every story — starts fresh again.

Paris, already renowned as the city of love and endlessly photogenic, reaches its peak beauty when draped in shades of pink and rose from the cherry blossoms.

When do Cherry Blossoms bloom in Paris?

Cherry blossoms in Paris generally bloom in late March and last until mid-April. However, this can change slightly from one year to the next depending on the weather conditions. It also varies from tree to tree. Some trees will bloom earlier than others.

In 2022, for example, I saw the blossoms in the Parc de Sceaux in perfect bloom and was surprised to find the trees near Parc Georges Brassens wilted just a day later.

So, if you want to make sure to catch them in Paris, your best bet is to come sometime between late March and mid-April. But keep in mind that the peak season is usually around the beginning or middle of April.

Where to find Blooming Cherry Trees in Paris?

So, but now and without further ado, here’s for you the list of my favorite cherry blossom locations in Paris.

#1 Parc Georges Brassens

2 Place Jacques Marette, 15th Arrondissement

If you are off to find some of the most beautiful cherry blossom in Paris, you need to put the Parc Georges Brassens on your list.

The park lies on the outskirts of Paris in the 15th arrondissement and is a true gem. That’s because apart from cute cherry blossom trees, the park also has one of the few Parisian vineyards, beehives, and on weekends even the covered antique book market.

You find the cherry trees at the old gate, located at 2 Place Jacques Marette. It’s a perfect photo spot because the pink trees are surrounding one of the iconic Wallace Fountains.

Update 2025: The trees got removed due to works, it is not certain they replant them

My tip: If you are looking for an easygoing lunch spot, the Brasserie “Arthur & Juliette” is 200m left from the gate. They have Croque Monsieur, Steak, and Burgers but also nice salads. And if you’re lucky and the weather is mild, you can take a seat on their terrace.

#2 The Falguière Metro Station

Another picturesque Paris cherry blossom location is right in front of the Falguière Metro station in the 15th arrondissement.

It’s a little square called Place Camille Claudel and the tree stands in the middle of it. The square is rather small, but you still find a few benches to sit down, relax and enjoy the blossoms.

It’s the picture-perfect Paris scene: You have a beautiful Metro station designed by Hector Guimard with its trademark Art Nouveau style, plus a typical dark green advertising pillar in the middle of the square. And of course, the cherry blossom tree in full bloom.

My Lunch Tip: Restaurant Plume – rather fine dining with an affordable Lunch menu (book in advance)

Other things you can do in the area:

  • Visit the Tour Montparnasse
  • Walk along the Esplanade Jacques-Chaban-Delmas until Les Invalides
  • Have lunch in one of the Restaurants at Rue du Cherche-Midi
  • On Thursday & Saturday mornings: visit the farmers market on Avenue de Saxe

#3 Jardin des Plantes

57 Rue Cuvier, 5th Arrondissement

The Jardin des Plantes is the main botanical garden of France and one of the largest in the world. It’s located on the left bank of the Seine River and belongs to the 5th arrondissement.

The cherry blossoms at Jardin des Plantes are truly spectacular because there are so many of them.

They are scattered all over the Jardin des Plantes and line the paths. It’s a very romantic place in Paris for a stroll.

However, the pink blossom highlight of the Jardin des Plantes is the most tree that you can hardly miss. But just in case, you find it in Allée Alfred Lacroix.

My Lunch Tip: Tadam, a creative French restaurant with seasonal products and good wine. (book in advance). Laurent and I have been there a couple of times, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

#4 Shakespeare & Company

37 Rue de la Bûcherie, 5th Arrondissement

The prettiest English bookstore in Paris is also one of the best cherry blossom spots in Paris.

You find the trees just in front of the store, next to the Wallace Fountain. They are absolutely gorgeous and make for a very romantic Parisian setting.

If you want to escape the crowds, step inside Shakespeare & Company and enjoy browsing their wonderful selection of books. However, the shop has become increasingly popular lately, so you might even find yourself queuing to get in.

Your best chance is to visit early in the morning for a quieter experience.

  • Stroll along the Seine
  • Visit Sainte-Chapelle

#5 Jardin Anne-Frank

Another beautiful park to see cherry blossom in Paris is the Jardin Anne-Frank. The park is located just next to the Centre Pompidou in the 3rd arrondissements, in the Marais.

The trees at Jardin Anne-Frank are located all around the little park, and the tranquility of the place makes it the perfect spot in Paris to relax and enjoy the awakening of nature.

#6 Champs de Mars

7th Arrondissement

Do you want cherry blossoms at the Eiffel Tower? Say no more!

The cherry blossom trees at the Champs de Mars are located right in front of the Eiffel Tower, and they make for a stunning spring photo.

If you are in Paris a bit earlier than April, watch out for the Magnolia trees in bloom. They are also located at the Champs de Mars and are absolutely gorgeous.

#7 Parc de Sceaux

Parc de Sceaux is one of the largest parks in the Paris area and is located in the southern suburbs of the city. It’s by far the spot with the most cherry blossom trees in the Paris region. It’s also straightforward to get to. From Paris, the train RER B only takes 10 minutes.

The cherry trees here are truly spectacular and during March and April, many people come around just to see them.

Parc de Sceaux is a great cherry blossomspot for a picnic or a walk, or to even visit the castle that is located there. Each year, the park also hosts a Hanami Festival to celebrate the season.

If you want to visit the Parc de Sceaux during cherry blossom season, I recommend being there during the week and early in the morning, as it can get very crowded on weekends.

So crowded, you might not even find a little spot to sit on the grass. I was shocked when I was there last April on a sunny Sunday.

#8 The Coulée Verte

Did you know that you can walk back to Paris after visiting the Parc de Sceaux? The Coulée Verte is a 7 km long park that goes from the Parc de Sceaux all the way back to Paris.

You can walk or bike along the Coulée Verte, and there are blooming trees along the way.

If you want to make it a bit shorter, you can also just walk the Coulée Verte to the Metro Station Châtillon, and get back to Paris from there. From the Parc de Sceaux to the station it’s about 5 km.

#9 Parc Monceau

Parc Monceau is one of the most beautiful parks in Paris, and it’s located in the 8th arrondissement, not too far from the Arc de Triomphe.

The park is well worth a visit at any time of the year, but it’s especially lovely during cherry blossom season, of course.

#10 Allée Vivaldi

12th Arrondissement

You should definitely check out Allée Vivaldi for a pink blossom overload. It is a beautiful alley lined up with cherry trees and located in the 12th arrondissement. It is part of the Promenade Plantée.

The Promenade Plantée is a 4.5 km long pedestrian stretch, that is partially an elevated walkway starting at the Bastille. It is similar to the high line in New York and a lovely destination for a leisurely walk.

  • Take a walk on the Promenade Plantée
  • Have a drink and lunch or Dinner at Ground Control
  • Visit the Parc de Bercy and the Cour Saint-Émilion

#11 The Marais: Saint Paul

10 Rue de Rivoli, 4th Arrondissement

Saint Paul is a nice cherry blossom spot in the Marais, located right next to the Saint Paul metro station and the merry-go-round. Both are located on a little square, which makes also a great starting point to explore the wonderful Marais district.

Other things you can do in the area:

  • Explore the Marais
  • head to the Bastille
  • eat a Falafel at one of the many Jewish and middle eastern eateries

#12 Trocadero Garden

The cherry blossom trees at the Trocadero Garden are located right in front of the Eiffel Tower and make for a beautiful photo.

They are located all over the park, and it’s especially charming to see these gorgeous blossoms with the Eiffel Tower in the backdrop.

  • visit the Musée de l’Homme or the Aquarium de Paris
  • or the Palais de Tokyo
  • take a walk on the Île aux Cygnes

#13 Parc Floral

Parc Floral is a beautiful – and large – park located in the 12th arrondissement. It is one of the best locations in Paris for all kinds of spring blossoms. And, of course, for cherry blossoms.

They are mostly located by the entrance, but you should not miss the occasion to explore the rest of the park. Here are many other flowers in bloom during spring, and thanks to it’s size, the park often feels calm and relaxed. Especially during the week.

It is a great place for a walk or a picnic, or to simply enjoy the thousands and flowers and plants.

When my kids were a bit younger, we regularly spent an entire day in the Park Floral. There are many playgrounds., that are a bit more out of the ordinary. But also ping pong tables and many green spaces to play and have fun. #

#14 Jardin Tino Rossi

2 Quai Saint-Bernard, 5th Arrondissement

Here’s to another location where you can locate blooming trees during cherry blossom season in Paris. The Jardin Tino Rossi stretches along the banks of the Seine, and it’s a favorite place to enjoy a picnic or just take a stroll along the river.

Good to know: It is also the most popular spot for Latin Dancing. As soon as the weather allows it, many people come here to enjoy the good vibes and to dance Salsa, Bachata, or Merengue. Often even with live music.

Those are not official gatherings, but organized by the community and spreading always such a good mood.

Other things you can do in the area:

  • see the Cherry Blossoms in the Jardin des Plantes
  • Visit the Panthéon and the Quartier Latin
  • Eat ice cream at Berthillon on the Île-Saint-Louis

#15 Jardin des Champs-Élysées

The Jardin des Champs-Élysées is a beautiful garden located near the Arc de Triomphe. So you can perfectly squeeze it in to you sightseeing programm and see a few cherry blossoms tree along the way.

The park stretches along both sides of the famous avenue, in between the Franklin D. Roosevelt and Place de la Concorde Metro stations.

It’s a nice spot to relax after heading to the Champs-Élysées, or to the other side, where the Tuileries Garden is located.
